Politics Regurgitated

Politics Regurgitated

(  Art by Banksy )

We've heard it all before,
Feed the rich, starve the poor,
Same old messages being spewed
Untrue Promises exacerbated in magnitude,
Manifestoes being branded around,
Touted about by every biased newshound.

We've heard it all before!

We've heard it all before,
Save the countries assets,
Making untrue promises, with no regrets.
Improve our infra structure
Change how and what we manufacturer.

We've heard it all before!

We've heard it all before,
The same old spewing trash,
Same old messages just being hashed and rehashed
Save the country, makes us great again
Not a word of truth, not even a grain.

We've heard it all before!

Valentine Verses

Easily Pleased

What do I want for Valentine ?
Not chocolates, gems or dresses,
Just love, you and sweet caresses,
Forever us knowing love divine.

What do I want for next year?
Not holidays, fancy meals or promotions,
Just love, you and your devotions,
Forever us knowing love is premier.

What do I want for life?
Not fast cars, houses or high fashion,
Just love, you and loads and loads of passion,
Forever us being a loving husband and wife!

The Gift

You hold the Key to my secret, my gift,
You unlock the gate to my love,
Where eternal love springs forth
New and surprising delights for you to adore,
Each time you turn the key
Warm emotions radiate, create
Love of the unknown,
Everyday new gems
Explore!

You hold the key to our secret, our gift,
Nurture and cultivate it for evermore,
Like every natural organic
It will flourish and grow,
Each time you turn the key
Our love will regenerate, create even more,
Emotions will reach fresh heights, intensify,
 Mature !

We must keep our key safe, complete ,
So our love remains fresh, sweet,
Our love will forever surprise us,
This,our secret, our gift
How our two soul are destined to live ,
Forever,Together,
Spring will be constant in our hearts,
Always new ground to uncover,
New gifts to be found,
 Discovered!

Love is Our gift

Moonbeams and Dreams

I would captured the moon for you
If I knew your love was true
I would stop the ocean tides
If your love for me was bona fide
I would capture the stars that shine
If  you would love me, be only mine
I would make heaven our home
If you would love me and me alone
Angels on harps would play
If you promised not to stray
We'd feast on the foods of gods
If you would love me, give me the nod
You will always be my faithful queen
In the land of my silly valentine dreams !

Vintage Valentine

I love you ,Oh so very much !
My body tingles with every touch,
When you look at me in that way,
Time stops, ceases to exist at least for a day,
When you hold me so near in your arms,
No man or beast would dare do me harm
As we lie close, caressing one another,
No goddess in heaven could want another lover,
Yet this is our heaven night after night,
Our years together and it still feel so right!
Our love is alive, it's still so much fun,
Never to be relinquished
Not even for the moon, stars or sun,
My deepest wish is to remain with you, in this bed,
Till we're very, very old or preferably dead!
So when we finally reach those famous pearly gates
You and I can start on over, right from our first date !

Ice Cream Days

Ice Cream Days

It's an ice cream day
Yummy, Yummy
Hip! hip! hooray!
Blue skies and sun rays ,
Yummy, Yummy
It's an ice cream day !

The sun is shining and the sky is blue,
Not a lot one can do,
But lick and indulge in creamy coldness,
Pistachio, Chocolate or flavours with boldness.
Eat it quick before it drips,
Feel it oozing between your lips,
Feel the iciness slide all the way down,
It will keep you smiling and banish all frowns !

Enjoy an ice cream day
Yummy, Yummy,
Hip! Hip! Hooray !
Be a kid for your ice cream day,
Soak up the sun and skies of blue
You know it's what you want to do !

Yummy, Yummy,
Hip! Hip! Hooray !
We've waited so long for our
Ice Cream day !

Another Rainy Day

Another Rainy Day

Another dismal, sleepy, stirring
To melancholy drops cascading,
Through the depressing morning curtain call,
The beating of my heart matching the rhythmic beat
Of those relentless drops,
Hope in my heart diminished,
By negative ions bombarding the atmosphere,
Rain be banished !
Allow the rays through,
A glimpse, a hope to survive,
Let my heart feel light.
Lift my spirits,
Energise, let me feel a rebirth,
The seasons are out of kilter
My being feels splintered
Out of sorts!
Let The sun shine !!!!!

Flags of Violation

Flags Of Violation

Banksy
Another flag another country
All hand made, traditionally,
Stitched and stitching,
Belly aching, skin itching,
 Knees skimmed bruised and blue,
Fingers bleeding red, till bones show through,
Work, work till face is ashen and white,
Pennies collected so cool for another night,
Red, White and blue.
Another celebration, different colours, different flags
Just another penny for tiny girls and lads,
Over waters and over seas,
Kids working for mere pennies,
As we party in celebrations,
Waving Flags of human violations!
Red, White and Blue !

Room With A View

Room With A View
Banksy

Oh for a room with a view
Just me and you,
We could sit for hours
Talk about ours,
The  times gone by,
 Things that were said
The reasons why ?
In our room with a view.

Oh for a room with a view
Just me and you,
We could reminisce
About our first  kiss,
That first date
When you were late,
In our room with a view.

Oh for a room with a view
Just me and you,
What would we do,
When we were through
Chatting for hours
Remembering the past
But would we last?
In our room with a  view
 Just me and you!

The Takeover

The Takeover
Banksy at Hastings Sussex

Commercialism has successfully overtaken religion,
Tesco's populate every street
A place to shop, quickly, for products so cheap,
Land and individuality devoured by huge cartels
Whose only mantra's is to sell, sell, sell

Sweet Sunday song very nearly banished,
Buildings of worship abandoned, almost vanished,
Children taught of envy and to adore,
All their needs catered for at the superstore,
Brainwashed and needing things !
I want !I want is all they sing.

In village's all over the place,
Long family owned shops have boards across their faces,
The fight to compete with the big boys,
Losing hand over fist ,no longer able to employ
The communities that were once their clients,
The beat of the street now is eerily silent!

So when Tesco's and the like ruin the land,
Any buildings of history will decay to sand,
Kids will only have modern constructed monstrosities
To fuel their imagination and curiosity,
So simple pleasures and the past we should clarify
Love, peace, hope should be their lullaby!

Monkey Business

Monkey Business

Those in charge
Of the public at large
In their tailored suits,
From old Etonian roots,
Armed with supposed scruples,
Yet grand masters of dodgy loopholes!
Sit en mass
Acting totally crass,
In a building oozing history,
Where they decide on our society,
To them different to upper class a mystery,
So they make the rules,
 For us the fools!
Who believe their talk
Alas just like chalk,
It becomes erased,
 Resulting in dire days!
No, not for them!
We can't call them men,
They don't live our plight,
Cos they're al right,
In their pied a terres,
They dine and live sans care,
Weekends spent in country mansions,
On enhanced pay and  massive pensions,
So shouldn't we replace
These evolved men with a different race,
Go back to base!
Forgo for a while the rat race,
Take their blinkers off !
Ignore they're toffs,
Strip them bare,
Put them out there,
With us, The masses,
Smash their rose tinted glasses,
Restore empathy to our country
While we re-educate our political Monkeys

Angels in Training

Angels In Training

Angels in training,
Shed dewdrops like its raining.
Surveying their future job in hand,
As Guardian angels mentor them through our lands,
Across expanses of tortuous war zones,
And dry desert lands scattered with bones
In city scapes they observe fat cats,
While hard working souls live like rats,
War, greed, poverty and starvation,
Effecting every country, every nation.
Even angels can reach point break,
When their heavenly hearts will hurt and ache
Dewdrops will flow free like its raining
For all the little angels still in training .

A Social Emergency

 A Social Emergency

Love and peace within out city,
Seems to be a real scarcity,
Its become a social emergency
Balance needs to be restored,
Its a matter of the up most urgency
Societies systems are constantly abused
Kids left to fend alone, no longer amused
Love thy neighbour, now just a phrase from the past!
Innocence of childhood cut too short, not long to last,
Greed and avarice run amok, run rife!
In this our civilized 21st century life.

We need to inject some love intervention
If peace and harmony is society intention!

I Don't Like Mondays

I Don't Like Mondays
Banksy
On one side of a our globe
A baby stirs, yawns,
Safe from every tiny microbe,
The sun rises, Monday dawns
On green mowed and tended lawns.

The other side of our globe
A child stirs, stomach aching,
Attacked by every tiny microbe,
The sun rises, Monday's baking
On children hunger fuelled awakenings.

Mondays may fill us with dread,
With the whole working week looming ahead,
So take heed and keep in your mind,
The life of a child across the world,
Not just Monday, But a daily grind
Their struggle to remain alive
 Survive !

Take action

The Protection Of Peace

Banksy

 The Protection Of Peace

On hard, concrete, grey, lifeless, stone,
Gently and delicately,
Created, a dove alone
A messenger of love and peace,
A padded jacket  protecting her feathery fleece.

People walking on hard macadam,
May
wonder why ?
Peace is no longer our Madame ?

A gentle woman that'd caress
Nurse humanity, through its stresses,
Who would no longer have to be swathed
In a jacket for protection

For humanity she would bathe,
Lovingly, with care
She'd teach us not to fight and stare,
She'd sponge our souls in peace
So wars, prejudice and hate
Would stop!
Cease!

Urbans United

I wrote this for dVerse Poetics Theme Going Urban Although there was a picture Prompt I choose mine of Bristol UK I love the place because my daughter lives there, it has a cultural Vibe which I feel one can feel and its also the home town of street /graffiti artist Banksy who fascinates me.
This poem also I hope reflects how a young person growing up in an english city may feel this week ( I'm a country girl )

Urbans United

A Banksy  Situated at Hotwells Bristol UK
I live in my city ....the place of my birth,
Just a regular kid with feelings of self worth
But as I stroll down my street,
Its dismay, disgust and fear that I meet,
Surely loutish sensibilities for my age is not a must!
The machinery and soul of this hub, must be trust!

SO Urbanites unite!
Cos our kids are Alright !

People who look like my nanna, mum and dad,
Treat me like a yob,and make me feel bad,
But I love the buildings that build my history,
The rebels who choose to destroy them I find a mystery,
Its the people here who also make it right!
We work together, make our community tight!

SO Urbanites unite!
Cos our kids are alright!

So Urbanites united
We will teach the kids who rioted,
To feel respect ,feel bonded,.
Help write their success stories
Our cities colours will reflect  in their glory !

So Urbanites unite!
Our Kids are alright !

Respect Outlawed

This was written in light of the riots taking place over the UK in August 2011.

Respect Outlawed

Banksy
Rioting rebels, raging, randomly,

Enraging
,
Servants of government and saviours of the free,

Plying societies wrongs for their looting mentality
,
Entombing us, housebound,

Citing our kids as our enemies,

Taunting a GOVERNMENTS Leniency !

Missiles Of Love

Missiles of Love

Banksy

Around the World, missiles and guns.
 Constantly fired
Death, birth and love though,
Not yet retired.
Innocent children brought into this political unrest
Too young to fight
 Too young to protest
Innocence and love in childhood
Is their life,
 It is their norm,
 Yet elders of countries,
Constantly fighting to reform!

Maybe the saviours from the devastation
Emanates from their seed
For every fighting nation
Its from the innocent
They should take heed
No prejudices indoctrinated
Peace, love and tolerance,
 The only missiles activated.

Graffiti

This poem is written because of  One Stop Poetry ....Arts and Graffiti I chose this graffiti by Banksy as I find it so ironic

Graffiti

Keep it neat !
tis our street
We're all so prim
Scribbling is such a sin!

Keep it smart!
tisn't art !
We all have class
Self expression is so crass!

I think its neat,
art's such a treat!
Banksy paint down our road,
The middle classes have been vetoed.
Parliament  have made a social treaty
 Urbanites must embrace graffiti.
