My Little Soldier

My Little Soldier

When Children are very sick parents try and blame themselves and sometimes feel immense and overwhelming guilt and all though they know they are not to blame they continue to do so. Hope and acceptance of an illness is sometimes the only way to get through it sometimes with really positive outcomes!

My Little Soldier, I look at him
His perfect ivory skin
Peaceful in his drug-induced sleep
I know within, War rages, one he must win!
I look at him
His perfect potential life
The peaceful innocence of his internal strife.
I know within, I'd die to save him, my kin!
I look at him
My perfect child
Peaceful yet I'm forever riled,
I feel so deep within, he's paying for my sin!
I look at him
My perfect babe,
I search my heart and soul,
Dissecting my life, whole,
I feel no shame, Yet he's still in pain,
I look at him
My perfect son,
I promise him all, till this war is won
For I know within
Together

We'll conquer and win!

Bubblegum Kisses

BubbleGum Kisses

Bubblegum Kisses,
are a passage of course
Just a natures way of showing its force !

A Shy, fumbling approach,
as adult feelings encroach
on your childhood,
unblemished

A friendship about to change
Innocence is the exchange
for confused emotions
all brand new

Bubblegum kisses,
are a passage of course
Just a natures way of showing its force!

Tho tread with care,
Ensure true love is there ,
for that first kiss
Should be pure bliss !

Bubblegum kisses can be the sweetest,
Or a complete and utter misery,
Those first kisses are dependent ,

Upon a well executed delivery.

ECHOES

The echoes from past times
Of mental and physical crimes,
Haunt the chains I have made
Since my childhood was betrayed,
Echoes interrupt my being,
Constantly in my head,
Like a film I’m seeing,
Played and replayed,
Always bubbling away
Waiting to invade.
Echoes beat in my heart,
Drowning the love, you give me,
Unless I rewrite my history,
The echoes of the past
Will destroy us
Shatter us like Glass!

Turn Back Time

Turn Back Time

If I step back in time
Way way back before my prime
When the world was all mine
Tiny, insular and undefined,
My wild, unbridled imagination
Turned even the norm into wonder and fascination,
Autumnal stripped trees who were once wooded glades
Suddenly turned to a landscape where aliens had to invade,
Those knotted roots that tripped and trapped,
Made especially so them critters could watch how we'd adapt,
Candy striped deck chairs upturned onto a lawn,
Became my secret hideaway into many a dawn,
Cars with bright lights, whizzing past,
Were huge monster guzzling the landscape after a fast,
Those tiny sparkling stars in the sky
Were angels watching me with their beady eyes,
Gloomy graveyards with the resting dead
Were definitely  places were all vampires fed,
And those churches that loomed into the sky
Were their dens where they practise to fly,
My imagination is now in decline
I'm now way way past that sweet childhood time
My world is here, now! and totally defined,
Oh if we could just turn back time !

My Mountain

My Mountain

He's always been like a mountain to me,
Always there tall and strong,
Forgiving me no matter what went wrong
In his shadow was my haven,
Even when naughty and misbehavin,
In his arms he kept me
Safe and sheltered from worldly harm.

He's always been a mountain to me
Allowed me to be me, be free,
He's heard the moans of my strife
All through his life ,
I'm still in awe
Though he knows me no more,
Loving him is a joy not a chore
The man mountain that is constant in my mind
Remains with me still,
Though now its harder to climb
He'll always be my mountain,

Innocence Lost

Innocence Lost

Solous And Maser Irish Street Artists

What's happened to childhood today
Where did it go to?
Its been taken  away,
Little men and Ladies,
Seeing things they ought not to see
Innocence robbed
In our quest for technology,
 Visual delights constantly
 Bombards them
Without their consent
Music booms loudly
 Without any real intent,
Yet into virgin minds
It drips and slips
drip, drip,
dripping,
Innocence suffocating
Till childhood is all stripped.
Innocence protected
Should be a directive,
Little princes and princesses
Should be adored and safe
Without adult worries, habits and stresses!

The Parting

The Parting

The time has come to dip your toe
In the Ocean of life,
So swim strong,
My love
Just go!

The time has come for grown up things,
Of love and strife,
My love
The reality that all of life
Brings!

The time has come to leave the nest,
Our loving bond,
My love
Always to remain,
Intact, whole,
Blessed!

The time has come
My love,
To learn to fly,
Leave the ocean say goodbye,
Grasp at your dreams
Reach for the sky!

The time has come to say goodbye
  To innocence of  childhood
  So soar high,
  My love
  Just fly!

The time has come for you to fly,
  Go my love ,
  Turn away now,
  Don't say good bye
  Allow my tears to flow,
  Allow me to
  Cry!

A Gorgeous Day

A Gorgeous Day

Sizzle, griddled ,
Till cooked in the middle
Smothered and covered
In crystals of sugar,
Citrus juices squeezed,
To tease and please
Stacked up high disc upon disc
Desperate to munch, quick, quick
Sugary lips so lemony, so lick, lick,
Those delicious delights so smothered,
Remind us of times when we were mothered
A time of love, kindness, innocence and peace
Its a time when adulthood stops for a moment,
A minute, it just seems to cease !

Childhood Stories

Childhood Stories

In idyllic innocence
When the sun was constant with it brilliance
 Time seemed to stand still
Imagination running riot and with time to kill,
The dusty books that smelt of age,
Became my friends and how I'd engage,
My dreams and notions,
Were fuelled by mystery, fantasy and magic potions,
Characters and creatures leapt from every leaf,
Performing feats beyond belief,
Witches, fairies, treasure islands and gangs of chums,
Staved of boredom and twiddling thumbs,
Now ensconced in middle age
How I wish I could turn back the page,
When life was idyllic in it's innocence,
And
The sun always shone brightly in it's brilliance !

Grandads Knee

Grandads Knee

My granddaddy always said to me
You wait until your thirty three
You'll have some little'uns of your own
Your little princess or prince will sit upon this throne,
This throne that's reserved just for you
Till childhood fairyland bids adieu.

So upon his knee I'd clumsily scramble,
Listening to his stories and rambles,
His stories were off  far of lands,
Of fairy queens, her kingdom and commands,
The only wish he had for me
Was I be as happy as happy as I could be.

On his throne that was his knee,
My childhood was like a fantasy,
No seat ever has replaced that spot
That I'd climb upon as a tiny, tiny, tot
Perhaps if grandaddies knees  were the law
I'd still see my fantasy lands of wonder and awe

I Want To Be Free

I Want To Be Free

I want to be three,
I want to scream,and shout,
I want to jump in puddles,
Kick autumn leaves about!

I want to be three,
I want to play with abandon,
I want to scream with glee,
Bash drums dressed as a bandsman!

I want to be three,
I want to be swaddled in love,
I want the sleep of the innocent,
Snuggled up like a hand to a glove.

I want to be free,
I want no deadlines,or pains,
I want the sleep of the innocent,
To awaken in a land where childhood forever reigns.

I want to be free!
