Memories

Memories
Summer Night 1913 Albert Bloch

Memories slowly form,
Nostalgia creeps in like a dusky dawn
Times long past
Moments that are deemed to last,
Of people and places,
Lovers faces,
 Rivals spats,
Segments of drunken chats,
All brought to the fore
A peek inside that memory door,
That makes you and me
Now,
What you see,
It's the good and bad
The laughs, the sad,
That moulds and controls
Now
 What you see
My memories make me !

Musical Mnemonic

Musical Mnemonic
I'm getting old
Or so I'm told
Getting long in the tooth,
Ain't that the truth!
Yet I trundle along
Till I hear that song
Then years disappear.
As the notes reach my ears,
I'm back to being eighteen
Dance, dance,
My brain screams !
I travel back in time
To when I was in my prime,
The music would play
We'd dance and sway,
We'd kiss and caress,
Needing love,
 Wanting to possess,.
The tune gently fades,
Reality invades,
I'm back to today,
To continue my decay!
Yet when I hear that melody,
I'm back to the previous century!

Baby Blues

I wrote this last year for Alhzeimers  Week for my causes Blog  Poetic Causes  where further  poems on this subject can be found

Baby Blues

Baby Blues

I look into those baby blues to see
I see you but you see me
in some refracted history
Times misplaced,displaced ,
Some times erased ,misplaced!

I look into your baby blues,
I miss the twinkle,
Replaced by well earned wrinkles
That sprinkle your ivory skin,
Somewhere inside you are still within.

I look into your baby blues to see,
I see you ,how do you see me ?
Your child ? your carer ?
Your memory sharer ?

I search those baby blues
In my heart,I know deep, deep inside.
My mother still resides,
Inside, she cannot hide,
I know those baby blues !

Sepia Memories

Submitted to :dVerse Poets Poetics For today’s prompt, let’s grab our paints and mix up a poetic palette using color. Hosted by Victoria

Sepia Memories

Sepia memories are all that's left,
Since you departed and left us bereft,
Times that were once bright and alive,
Being drowned out struggling to survive,
Red's and blues somehow refuse,
To prick my brain even infuse!
The things that I see all about,
Seem muted, dull, nothing shouts out!
What replays back in my minds eye,
Are memories drained of colour and dye,
Within my soul tho is my scarlet, scorching love,
As I dream of you in a soft auroral light above,
Sepia memories I will accept and keep,
Until we're both reunited in heavenly sleep.

Friend

Friend
We've been on each others team
God how long has it been?
Years and decades
Through bad times
And wicked escapades
Literally through youth
The births, our baby's first tooth,
I've seen the men you've dated
The ones that you always overrated.
I'd love for you to find your match,
But none of them ever seem up to scratch,
You know I'm always here,
If you ever ever need an ear!
We may not always agree
But friendship is a potpourri
Feelings are shared, intense
Lives become entwined, condensed
Forever gelling cementing
 OUR FRIENDSHIP
