Missing You

Missing You

Hugging your pillow,
Ain't quite the same,
As snuggling with you,
And calling your name.

Missing You!

Eating dinner solo,
Munching the bone,
Not chatting with you,
Just being alone
Missing You!

Sitting watching drivel,
Like we do,
It seems to make sense,
When its us two.

Missing You !

Random thoughts that enter your head,
Now it's just silence.
No mumbling philosophy,
The space is dead.

Missing You !

So hurry home,
Fill the space,
Snuggle up tight,
Make my heart race.

Missing You !

Hugging my pillow
Ain't quite the same,
Missing you
Saying my name !

Missing you is what I do
When it just me
And not us two
Missing you !

Winter Survival

Winter Survival
Iced winds chill the atmosphere,
Causing strife, worry and morbid fear,
Cutting through to every fibre,
No choice but to become a survivor!

Plumage gone, deceased!
As icy winds strengthen like some Maddening beast,
Cutting through every fibre,
Only choice to be strong, become a survivor!

Warmer winds and sun that shines,
Will return in its time,
 Warming through to every fibre,
Proving to one and all,... WE are survivors!

Turn Back Time

Turn Back Time

If I step back in time
Way way back before my prime
When the world was all mine
Tiny, insular and undefined,
My wild, unbridled imagination
Turned even the norm into wonder and fascination,
Autumnal stripped trees who were once wooded glades
Suddenly turned to a landscape where aliens had to invade,
Those knotted roots that tripped and trapped,
Made especially so them critters could watch how we'd adapt,
Candy striped deck chairs upturned onto a lawn,
Became my secret hideaway into many a dawn,
Cars with bright lights, whizzing past,
Were huge monster guzzling the landscape after a fast,
Those tiny sparkling stars in the sky
Were angels watching me with their beady eyes,
Gloomy graveyards with the resting dead
Were definitely  places were all vampires fed,
And those churches that loomed into the sky
Were their dens where they practise to fly,
My imagination is now in decline
I'm now way way past that sweet childhood time
My world is here, now! and totally defined,
Oh if we could just turn back time !

Another Rainy Day

Another Rainy Day

Another dismal, sleepy, stirring
To melancholy drops cascading,
Through the depressing morning curtain call,
The beating of my heart matching the rhythmic beat
Of those relentless drops,
Hope in my heart diminished,
By negative ions bombarding the atmosphere,
Rain be banished !
Allow the rays through,
A glimpse, a hope to survive,
Let my heart feel light.
Lift my spirits,
Energise, let me feel a rebirth,
The seasons are out of kilter
My being feels splintered
Out of sorts!
Let The sun shine !!!!!

Flags of Violation

Flags Of Violation

Banksy
Another flag another country
All hand made, traditionally,
Stitched and stitching,
Belly aching, skin itching,
 Knees skimmed bruised and blue,
Fingers bleeding red, till bones show through,
Work, work till face is ashen and white,
Pennies collected so cool for another night,
Red, White and blue.
Another celebration, different colours, different flags
Just another penny for tiny girls and lads,
Over waters and over seas,
Kids working for mere pennies,
As we party in celebrations,
Waving Flags of human violations!
Red, White and Blue !

Innocence Lost

Innocence Lost

Solous And Maser Irish Street Artists

What's happened to childhood today
Where did it go to?
Its been taken  away,
Little men and Ladies,
Seeing things they ought not to see
Innocence robbed
In our quest for technology,
 Visual delights constantly
 Bombards them
Without their consent
Music booms loudly
 Without any real intent,
Yet into virgin minds
It drips and slips
drip, drip,
dripping,
Innocence suffocating
Till childhood is all stripped.
Innocence protected
Should be a directive,
Little princes and princesses
Should be adored and safe
Without adult worries, habits and stresses!

Balancing The Impossible

Balancing The Impossible

Good,evil, wrong or right
Are they bad if it's not within sight ?
Cultural and social traditions,
Black magic, old suspicions,
Arranged marriages of submission,
Same sexes needing permissions.

Life existing in a deathly stance,
Yet murders committed in a glance,
Those left, feeling devastated and bereft,
There is no understanding of the human theft,
Created in the name of a god or idol,
Those Fierce fanatics turning suicidal !

Good,evil, right or wrong
The world may one day, sing the same song
Gather together in harmony as a loving clan,
Restore understanding, hope, a balance,
A united front, a global Yin Yang.

Love is a delicate balance

Mirror Mirror In The Hall

Mirror Mirror In The Hall

Salvador Dali

That mirror in every ones hall,
Has seen life, seen it all,
Everybody who's passed its way,
Their reflection caught and absorbed away,
Faces contorted with pained fear,
As life changing events charge ever near,
Tears checked within it's light,
Smudges cleared until faces look just right,
Rampant curls teased to behave,
Beards diminished while men shave,
Every occasion and every day
The mirror has witnessed mixed bouquets,
Of tears, joys, the men, the boys
Kids, wives, mothers, lovers
All.the families significant others,
So every mirror could tell a tale
Release families secrets, remove the veil,
So mirror, mirror in the hall,
Stay inanimate never reveal all !

Ice Baby

Ice Baby

"Ice Baby" he chimed
With those sparkling diamonds tinkling in time,
Their regimented shapes clattered against metal,
Silenced only once the bucket is settled,
Cool cubes of refreshing zing,
Chilling all with their translucent bling,
Plink, plink into the juice
Drink,drink before their vamoossed,
Slowly oozing  back to their origin,
Liquefying becoming unfrozen,
 Objects of perfection,
Gone without solid detection,
Ice baby, Ice !

Cutting Words

Cutting Words
Vladimir Kush
Together we'd once dance
Words would tease and prance,
Sweet around your lips
As we coiled and embraced,
Touching and caressing with finger tips,
Sweet honeyed words were spoken,
Genuine, full of promises and emotion,
Words composed from the heart,
Of  a heaven together, our start !

Now we seem poles apart,
Your words hurt, cut,
Straight to the heart
Chopping and dissecting,
Our life, it's direction,
Your vocal pen loaded with venom,
The only words written now are for loves requiem!

Mice And Men

Mice And Men
Photo In New York Times Jan 23rd 2012

We the mice run around play nice,
Sniffing out a living
Scurrying about, forever giving,
To them the men who tax us again and again,
They who can't lose,
Even when they've been accused
Of
 Lying and cheating,
Squandering
Our resources,
Which then forces us
To limit our heating,
Change our habits in eating,

Move our location
Affecting our nation !

We the mice care for our young,
Nurturing and feeding,
Limiting our breeding,
While them the men receive big bungs,
FOR
 Lying, deceiving,
To brainwash us into believing ,
 Their excuses and lies,
We should give them our vote,
Cause more strife, raise human anxiety,

As they further bankrupt and demote,
Our Society !

Monkey Business

Monkey Business

Those in charge
Of the public at large
In their tailored suits,
From old Etonian roots,
Armed with supposed scruples,
Yet grand masters of dodgy loopholes!
Sit en mass
Acting totally crass,
In a building oozing history,
Where they decide on our society,
To them different to upper class a mystery,
So they make the rules,
 For us the fools!
Who believe their talk
Alas just like chalk,
It becomes erased,
 Resulting in dire days!
No, not for them!
We can't call them men,
They don't live our plight,
Cos they're al right,
In their pied a terres,
They dine and live sans care,
Weekends spent in country mansions,
On enhanced pay and  massive pensions,
So shouldn't we replace
These evolved men with a different race,
Go back to base!
Forgo for a while the rat race,
Take their blinkers off !
Ignore they're toffs,
Strip them bare,
Put them out there,
With us, The masses,
Smash their rose tinted glasses,
Restore empathy to our country
While we re-educate our political Monkeys

Natures Revenge

Natures Revenge

Man asked nature
"What have you done to me
Mortified my body and turned me into a tree"
Mother nature answered in her defense,
Clogging my planet with acidic, Carboniferous, filthy, spew,
As the planet's mother, what else could I do?
now you can feel the effects of your carelessness
See all the suffering your greed has caused, all the duress!"
But man asked Mother Nature "what shall I consume?"
Mother Nature replied
with a sigh
"You my dear will soon become a broom!"

It's All Relative

It's All Relative
Street art by Vango Situated In Kilarney Ireland

If Einstein had lived today ,
Could if affect how we live, work and play?

Would Albert  Einstein felt empowered ,
Or would he have spent hours and hours
Just  surfing and Googling on the internet !
Would he have wasted his capabilities ?
So never discovering the theory of relativity.
Instead maybe he'd have a blog,
Tweeting for hours with caffeine to slog !

What would have happened to poor old Einstein
If Cern had existed in his time ?
Those clever bespectacled boffins
Really would have caused him chagrin,
Finding particles seemingly faster than the speed of light,
Which those boffins keep testing, to check its right
The little blighters that they found
Has stunned the world confused and confounded
The pesky particles they call neutrinos,
Would surely have driven poor Einstein to vino !

If Albert had been alive today
Not made his scientific in roads, in his way,
Would cyberspace still have been a possibility,
Or is it all just a question of relativity ?

Train of Thought

Train Of Thought
Overcrowded Train

Chit,.. chat,.. chit... chat.
Wheels of life moving,
Staying on track
Chit ,chat, chit ,chat.

Chug chug chugging,
Tracks of society,
Over rule natures priority
Chug chug chugging

Ra di Boom Ra di Boom
Humanity coming of  the rails,
Morality sinking, filling up jails
Ra di Boom Ra di Boom

Ding ding ding a dong
Journey almost ended
Natures poorly tended
Ding ding ding a dong

Screech screech halt,
Devastation is our fault
Reverse the trend,
Or its journeys end
Screech .......screech...... HALT !

Space Cleaner

Space Cleaner
Belgium Street Art

Is it gonna take a space warrior ?
To clean up our bricked corridors
To rid society of all its spills,
Of  media garbage, and governments bitter pills,
Of societies that consume and consumes.
Turning our world into a ineffective sickroom .

Is it going to take Darth Vadar ,
To take the bugs from our mental radars,
Should we be left without any immunity ?
Cleanse society, but destroy humanity,
We'll have to take control of the filter,
The world then will remain on kilter.

Zen Fountains

In memory of all victims of 9/11 and for those who have lost their lives since trying to protect our freedom

Zen Fountains

Concrete mountains.
replaced by fountains
Soothing Zen like trickling noise
Unable to drown out memories
Of terrorist attacks from other countries

Concrete mountains,
Replaced by fountains
Unable to ease away the pain
Felt by relative of victims
Whose lives were erased by planes.

Concrete mountains
Replaced by fountains
Soothing Zen like noise
Wars still rage in this age,
Lives still lost by Soilder boys.

Concrete mountains still remain,
Are zen like fountains all in vain ?

Silence Is Golden

Silence Is Golden
Charlie Chaplin In The Kid

In times of Old
Movies were entertainment gold,
No sound or special effects
Filmed only in a two
Dimensional aspect.

In black and white
Life was only wrong or right
No grey or in between
What you got,
Is what could be seen.

No politically correct rules
Actors could play the fool
With waifs and strays
No interfering busy bodies,
 To allay

Those old silent movies,
Still have a hold on us, that is kind of groovy.
The actors have become iconic,
The  movies minus vocals,
Subtle, yet ironic.

Actions still speak louder than words !

Not A Purple People Eater ( Childs Lit )

This was  a fun challenge for In Tandem where the Picture was the prompt

Not a Purple People Eater

I'm not a purple people eater,
My diet is much ,much cheaper,
I'm a creature that lurks in your mind,
Just colour the purple within the lines,
Take chalk, crayons or what ever you wish.
All thoughts of horrid monsters will be banished,
You can hang me on your wall,
Where I'll protect you from all things creepy,
Until your eyes gently close,
 Then you'll feel safe
 and
Very
Very
 Sleepy !

The Protection Of Peace

Banksy

 The Protection Of Peace

On hard, concrete, grey, lifeless, stone,
Gently and delicately,
Created, a dove alone
A messenger of love and peace,
A padded jacket  protecting her feathery fleece.

People walking on hard macadam,
May
wonder why ?
Peace is no longer our Madame ?

A gentle woman that'd caress
Nurse humanity, through its stresses,
Who would no longer have to be swathed
In a jacket for protection

For humanity she would bathe,
Lovingly, with care
She'd teach us not to fight and stare,
She'd sponge our souls in peace
So wars, prejudice and hate
Would stop!
Cease!
